Alberto Vilanova (PROFESSOR BETO)

Professor Beto Vilanova is a fourth-degree black belt, he possesses over two decades of comprehensive training and teaching experience. His journey began in Paraisopolis, Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he was born and raised. Despite facing substantial challenges during his high school years, such as contemplating discontinuing his training to support his family when his mother fell ill, his passion for Jiu-Jitsu never wavered.

In 2008, his unwavering dedication was recognized when he earned his Black Belt. Seeing an opportunity for growth, Professor Beto relocated to California in 2010. Even while balancing training, teaching, and attending college, he managed to secure placements in over six major Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. A testament to his skill and perseverance, he clinched the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu competition in March 2019.

Beyond his personal achievements, Professor Beto's commitment to the sport extends to his role as the founder and owner of Vilanova Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Camarillo, California. This platform allows him to share his expertise and foster a love for Jiu-Jitsu in others. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys a peaceful life in Camarillo with his wife, Alicia, and their daughter, Amelia.
